Union Berlin ended their six-game winless run with a 3-1 victory away from home against Mainz. It was also the first win under Marie-Louise Eta before her final game at the helm next weekend against Augsburg.

"I’m overjoyed that we won again. Also, for Eta. She just deserved it. We have already played a very, very good game against Wolfsburg. In Leipzig, not everything was bad. And, we did get a point against Köln," Union Berlin’s captain Christopher Trimmel reviewed the interim coach’s first month.

Eta celebrated the victory with jubilant fists after the final whistle. However, she preferred to be modest during her press conference after the game. “The boys fought their way back,” Eta complimented the players as she does after every game so far.

“And they rewarded themselves in the end. We knew that Mainz are a stable team. But we were courageous, and we have implemented that well. Especially in the first half, and had a lot of game control.”

As the president Dirk Zingler communicated from day one, Eta will take over the women’s team starting from next season. "As a coach, you're happy when you win, and you always want to do that. That's what happened today. That's important to me." concluded the youngest coach in the division.
