With Mario Götze’s contract at Eintracht Frankfurt set to expire at the end of the season, the German World Cup winner’s future is up in the air.

According to Bild, the 33-year-old has now decided he would like to remain at Eintracht and has communicated his intentions to the club’s management.

Since the Eagles are also open to extending their collaboration, talks over a contract renewal are expected to gain momentum soon, the report adds.

Götze is reportedly willing to accept a marginal reduction in his salary to continue his stay at Deutsche Bank Park.

The 33-year-old former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich midfielder has been with Eintracht Frankfurt since the summer of 2022.
