Mario Sauer loaned by Toulouse to Kaiserslautern with option to buy | OneFootball

Toulouse have loaned Slovak midfielder Mario Sauer to German second tier side Kaiserslautern with an option to buy, the club said in a statement on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old departs a year after arriving, having been the first signing of last summer’s window for the Violets.

He made 29 appearances in all competitions, including nine starts, and scored one goal. New head coach Jens Berthel Askou did not plan to use him this season.

With Mathis Saka also encouraged to leave, and Cristian Casseres still keen on a move despite the club wanting to extend his deal, further midfield exits are expected before the window shuts.

That could push Toulouse to recruit another midfielder, in addition to the left-back and the striker they hope to add.
