Marseille interested in Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas | OneFootball

Marseille are interested in Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas (29) as per Foot Mercato. The Greek international defender is expected to leave the Premier League champions this summer after Liverpool signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. Tsimikas signed for Liverpool from Olympiakos in 2020. He spent five seasons on Merseyside, most notably as Andrew Robertson’s understudy on the left defensive flank.

Meanwhile, Marseille are in need of defensive reinforcements after parting ways with Quentin Merlin. The Nantes Academy product joined Rennes, who need a successor for Adrien Truffert because the Belgium-born France international left-back signed for Bournemouth to replace Kerkez, whose arrival meant the end of Tsimikas’ spell with Liverpool.

Foot Mercato adds that Tsimikas is open to a new challenge, and Marseille would be keen to offer him just that.
