Olympique de Marseille are lacking some key players in their forward line as they prepare to welcome OGC Nice to the Vélodrome on Sunday night.
OM are desperate to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-0 loss to FC Lorient, which heavily dented their aspirations of UEFA Champions League qualification. However, if they are to return to willing ways, they will have to do so without Amine Gouiri and Igor Paixao, both of whom miss this Sunday’s Mediterranean derby.
There are also absences in the back line for Marseille. Nayef Aguerd, CJ Egan-Riley, and Geoffrey Kondogbia are all absent, which, nonetheless, does not prevent Habib Beye from playing a full-strength back-three. Bilal Nadir is the only other absentee for Les Phocéens. The surprise in the line-up could come in the form of Tochukwu Nnadi starting over Pierre-Emerick Hojbjerg in midfield.
Geronimo Rulli; Facundo Medina, Leonardo Balerdi, Benjamin Pavard; Emerson, Tochukwu Nnadi, Quinten Timber, Timothy Weah; Hamed Junior Traoré, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mason Greenwood. (L’Éq)
