Marshawn Lynch, the former Seattle Seahawks running back and 2014 Super Bowl winner, has reinvented himself as a press photographer and holds accreditation for the 2026 World Cup.
As reported by L'Équipe, the tournament is currently staged in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and Lynch was spotted on Friday in Seattle at the United States' 2-0 group-stage win over Australia. He has photographed sport since retiring in 2020.
An All-Pro during a 12-season NFL career, the 40-year-old played mainly for Seattle from 2010 to 2016, then returned from 2019 to 2020. He amassed 10,413 yards and 85 touchdowns, winning the Super Bowl in 2014 and finishing runner-up a year later.
He has been accredited at least since last August, when he was seen shielding his camera during a pre-season NFL game between Seattle and the Las Vegas Raiders.
His post-career portfolio is broad. He has acted, owned indoor American football franchises, taken a stake in the NHL's Seattle Kraken, and invested in cannabis and holoportation companies.
