FC Porto right-back Martim Fernandes has sustained a left thigh muscle injury, with the prognosis indicating a lay-off of one to two weeks. The problem is not considered serious.
According to O Jogo, the full-back missed the trip to Rio Ave after picking up the problem in the final action of Friday’s training. He should miss the home game against Arouca next Sunday and is in doubt for the visit to Ac. Viseu on the last weekend of August.
The situation will be monitored day by day. Alberto Costa, the other natural right-back, has returned after overcoming a contusion to his right thigh.
In Vila do Conde, the number 20 came on in the second half and was involved in the move for 2-0, replacing Nehuén Pérez, a centre-back filling in at right-back. Pablo Rosario can also cover on the right.
Francesco Farioli gave the squad two days off, but all injured players reported to CTFD Jorge Costa on Sunday and will return tomorrow to focus on recovery work. The injured list also includes Cláudio Ramos, Vasco Sousa, Alan Varela, André Miranda, Pietuszewski and Samu.
