Mason-Clark strikes as Coventry keep top spot | OneFootball

Coventry City beat Bristol City 1-0 on Saturday to stay top of the Championship.

In the 64th minute Ephron Mason-Clark turned in from close range after a corner to break the deadlock.

Anis Mehmeti was denied by Carl Rushworth (70.). City pressed, but Rushworth saved from Ross McCrorie (79.) and Sinclair Armstrong (80.).

After Ellis Reco Simms replaced Haji Wright (81.), Coventry City managed the closing stages. Rushworth parried Fally Mayulu in the second minute of second half stoppage time, before Josh Eccles shot over in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time.

Coventry City attempted 21 shots and saw 61.5% of the ball. Bristol City registered 16 attempts, with nine on target. Rushworth made nine saves.

Next, Coventry City visit Southampton. Bristol City host Middlesbrough.
