Celtic stepped up on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Falkirk in the first of the post-split games as Daizen Maeda added to his recent goals tally and Alistair Johnston returned to action.

The Japanese forward netted twice in the game, with his strikes in the 30th and 82nd minutes not only bookending a stunning rocket shot from Kieran Tierney, but also a goal from the visitors who brought it back to 2-1 midway through the second half.
