Matheus Donelli’s loan to Shabab Al Ahli ends this month. The 24-year-old Corinthians goalkeeper did not play or make a matchday squad before the United Arab Emirates season ended on 15 May.
According to Meu Timao, since Corinthians announced the deal on 6 February 2026, Shabab Al Ahli have not publicised the signing on their channels, and the keeper’s only sightings in club kit were while travelling with the squad, first in April.
Shabab Al Ahli finished as league runners-up, 10 points behind Al-Ain, securing a place in the 2026/27 AFC Champions League. With the calendar over, he is expected to return to Corinthians for the second half of the year.
There was no communication to Corinthians of any problem that might have voided the deal, while documentation, a work visa and medical tests were processed. Ramadan began in February, which affected the operation of state bodies.
In March, regional tensions following attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran prompted the AFC to postpone intercontinental fixtures, and some leagues, including in Qatar, paused. Shabab Al Ahli also had matches moved.
An academy graduate, Donelli had fallen to fourth choice by mid 2025 under Dorival Júnior, behind Hugo Souza, Kauê and Felipe Longo. He was last named in a matchday squad for the 1-0 win over Vitória in October 2025 in the Brasileiro, and his contract runs until 31 December 2028.
