Manchester United are open to adding another forward to their ranks this summer.
Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko all arrived at Old Trafford last year. The trio performed well in their debut seasons, with each reaching double figures.
However, United need more firepower up front as they head into the Champions League next season.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United could look to add a versatile forward this summer, depending on the potential departure of Joshua Zirkzee.
The 25-year-old Dutchman, who joined United from Bologna, is thought to be “a positive influence around the changing room since his arrival at the club in 2024” but has not been able to impress on the pitch.
Sky Sports claims that United are showing interest in Lille’s 21-year-old forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo.
“The young forward can also play on the wings and was included in Belgium’s World Cup squad having tallied eight goals and five assists in Ligue 1 last season,” the report adds.
Last year, French publication L’Équipe described the Brussels-born talent as “one of the best wingers in Ligue 1” due to his “rare physical profile.”
The 6ft winger possesses explosive pace and exceptional technical ability, making him a nightmare for defenders.
United are also reported to be interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye.
However, Villa are expected to listen to offers around the £80m mark. Meanwhile, Everton are reluctant to lose Ndiaye, who has three years left on his contract in Merseyside.
Given that United’s priority is to revamp the midfield, they are unlikely to be able to spend big on a Premier League-proven attacker. As such, Fernandez-Pardo has the potential to be a shrewd acquisition.
