Matias Soulé interest remains tentative as Crystal Palace ‘to sign’ Oscar Mingueza on free | OneFootball

Sunderland’s interest in Roma playmaker Matias Soulé remains exploratory, while Crystal Palace are reported to be closing on Oscar Mingueza on a free transfer.

Sunderland Echo reports that the approach for Soulé is a 'timid investigation' at this stage, with no negotiations for the 22-year-old. He is said to have little intention of considering offers for now, though that could change later in the window if Roma recruit in his role.

For the moment the Black Cats are monitoring rather than moving a deal forward. They have been active and are expected to keep assessing options as Régis Le Bris readies a Premier League and European campaign.

Soulé joined Roma from Juventus last summer after a productive loan with Frosinone. The left-footed attacker has long been viewed as one of Serie A’s brighter young talents.

As for Mingueza, Palace are thought to be winning the race for the Spanish international. He has been linked with Sunderland, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham, and is said to be heading to Selhurst Park after talks with multiple clubs.
