Wolves said in a statement that Matt Doherty will depart this summer following the expiry of his contract.
The 34-year-old made 389 appearances across 13 years in two spells and will become a free agent, ranking 16th on the club’s all-time list.
He was described as a club legend, with praise for his leadership on and off the pitch and his rise from raw teenager to the squad’s most senior figure.
Doherty joined in 2010 and broke through under Kenny Jackett as Wolves won promotion from League One in 2013/14.
Under Nuno Espirito Santo he was a key part of the side that reached the Premier League, recorded two seventh-placed finishes, and made the FA Cup semi-final and Europa League quarter-final.
He left for Spurs in 2020, had a brief spell with Atletico Madrid, then returned to Wolves in 2023.
