Former Le Havre sporting director Matthieu Bodmer has pushed back against talk of a move to SM Caen, saying his future remains undecided and that he has not signed anywhere.

He announced his exit last Sunday after the 2-0 win over Lorient, a result that confirmed the Normandy club’s survival. According to L'Équipe, several outlets, including the publication itself, had indicated an imminent switch to SM Caen (Ligue 3), and it maintains that reporting.

Bodmer said he must first finalise his departure from Le Havre, has taken time to visit family, and is speaking with clubs, but nothing is concluded.

He explained that internal issues he struggled to accept led to his decision to step away, adding that he would see what happens next.

The 43-year-old knows Caen well, having come through the club’s academy and made his professional debut there between 2000 and 2003.
