Maurício double keeps Palmeiras on top at Couto Pereira | OneFootball

Palmeiras beat Coritiba 3-1 at Couto Pereira to stay top of the Brasileirão, with Coxa slipping from seventh to eighth.

In the ninth minute Maurício swept in from the centre of the box after Ramón Sosa's pass. He then finished a fast break for his second (19.).

Jhon Arias struck the bar from a free kick (27.) as Verdão threatened, while Pedro Rangel kept Coxa in the game by tipping Sosa's drive over in the fourth minute of first half stoppage time.

After the restart Sosa arrowed in from outside the box (67.), set up by Joaquín Piquerez. Three minutes later, substitute Paulo Roberto rifled one back for Coxa from Josue's pass (70.).
