Max O’Leary won his second Republic of Ireland cap as he and Jayson Molumby featured in a 5-0 friendly win over Grenada in Spain.

Both players were withdrawn after 74 minutes, with Molumby earning his 35th cap. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion have offered the 29-year-old goalkeeper a new contract.

O’Leary, a January signing from Bristol City, impressed for Albion with seven clean sheets in 17 games, 16 in the Championship, as James Morrison’s side secured safety. He kept another shutout for Ireland, who did not qualify for this summer’s World Cup.

Despite Sunday’s cap almost a year after his first, O’Leary has missed out on the next Ireland squad for friendlies later this month and in June. Molumby is in a 24-man group to face Qatar on Thursday week, May 28, then Canada on June 6.

A youthful Ireland struck five second-half goals, with debutant Jack Moylan hitting a hat-trick and Tom Cannon adding two.

O’Leary’s future at The Hawthorns remains open, with talks to be decided and whether Morrison’s staff see him as next season’s number one still unclear. Josh Griffiths remains, while Joe Wildsmith will depart when his deal expires this summer.
