Mayor Sala ‘expects’ Inter and Milan to provide plans next month: “Before the summer” | OneFootball

AC Milan and Inter are currently in the process of buying San Siro and surrounding areas, however, they have not yet submitted a bid, and time is running out.

The debacle about San Siro, or elsewhere for that matter, has been ongoing longer than many can care to remember at this point. In recent years, there has been consistent talk of change in the situation, but it never arrives.

Because of this, it does not come as a shock to hear that the situation at present is going down a similar path. Despite the news about the Nerazzurri and Rossoneri’s interest in making the stadium their own, they have not made any official moves to do this.

Reports have recently suggested that the Diavolo are still considering the idea of moving to San Donato, which could be delaying things, but the City Council states that time is running out. Mayor Beppe Sala spoke today about the situation, and his words have been relayed by Calcio e Finanza, via Calciomercato.com.

“On Thursday, a new technical meeting took place in the City Hall. I did not attend, but the plans I hope are these – the clubs to present the documents regarding the economic plan for the new stadium at San Siro within the next 20 days.

“This timeline is dictated by the fact that the City Council expects an official proposal to purchase the current stadium and the surrounding areas in the spring, so as to conclude the sale process in favour of Inter and Milan before the summer.

“A necessary condition is that the architectural constraint on the second ring is definitively triggered in the autumn.”
