Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly completed his medical with Arsenal as his £75m transfer from Newcastle United should be announced soon.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano on X, formerly Twitter, with everything seemingly now in place for the Brazil international to officially become an Arsenal player.

Guimaraes has been strongly linked with the Gunners for some time now, and fans will be excited to hear that they can now look forward to the deal being officially announced fairly imminently.

The journalist posted: “Bruno Guimaraes has completed his medical at Arsenal ahead of signing a four year contract at the club. Mikel Arteta already spoke to Bruno today, excited to welcome him as Arteta wanted Guimaraes for years… and now he’s joining. £75m move, to be announced soon.”

What Bruno Guimaraes will bring to Arsenal

Guimaraes has plenty of strengths and qualities, and should make an immediate impact in Arsenal’s midfield, even if that’s already a position where they have a lot of good options.

The 28-year-old is a proven and experienced Premier League player, and his combination of technical quality and work rate have made him a force to be reckoned with.

Consistently one of the best players in the English top flight in his position, Guimaraes should complement Declan Rice well in Arsenal’s midfield, offering a similar kind of engine whilst also having a bit more variety with his passing.

At times last season, Arsenal looked like they lacked a bit of quality in the final third, so having someone like Guimaraes who can unlock defences with a killer ball could make a big difference.

The former Lyon man is also a decent goal threat from the middle of the park, scoring nine in total last season, along with five assists for his teammates.
