Mehdi Taremi condemned FIFA's handling of the World Cup after Iran's 1-1 draw with Egypt, citing chaotic logistics. According to L'Équipe, the Olympiakos forward said the tournament had been catastrophic for Team Melli.

Taremi missed a penalty in the match. The result left Iran third in Group G and close to elimination.

At the last minute before the tournament, the squad were forced to set up base in Tijuana, Mexico. All three group games were staged in the United States.

For each of those fixtures, the delegation had to make same-day return trips. US authorities did not allow them to stay overnight on American soil.

Taremi said Infantino visited their dressing room at the first match and said he would resolve the problems, yet nothing had been fixed. He added that the group phase ends tomorrow and Iran still do not have their logistics team on site because they do not have visas. They must wait for Saturday's results to know their fate.
