Mehdi Taremi has joined Al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates after a season with Olympiakos, according to L'Équipe.
The 34-year-old moves to his third club in three years, signing for the UAE top-flight side that finished third last season.
He will experience the Gulf league for the first time.
He will link up with French goalkeeper Yann Llahona, 19, developed at Lyon and Angers, and Adryelson, the former Brazilian defender of Lyon.
Taremi comes off a disappointing World Cup with Iran, in which he did not score. He notably criticised the conditions under which the national team had to play the tournament.
After one year in Piraeus he leaves having played 39 matches for Olympiakos. He scored 16 goals and supplied 6 assists, and won the Greek Super Cup this year.
His Porto stint left a mark, with 91 goals in 182 appearances, roughly a goal every two matches.
