Memphis Depay hails World Cup win, likens celebration to Corinthians Porópópó | OneFootball

Corinthians forward Memphis Depay came off the bench to supply an assist as the Netherlands thrashed Sweden 5-1 in the 2026 World Cup group stage on Saturday, a result that put them top of Group F on four points.

"I think it was a very important win. We needed to win and it gave us confidence, I think we could have scored even more," he told CazéTV.

"We have celebrated like this with the fans since the Euros and it looks a bit similar. I can teach them the Porópópó if we are champions [laughs]."

Japan are second on the same total, behind on tiebreakers, with Sweden and Tunisia in third and fourth respectively.

The Netherlands conclude their group on Thursday against Tunisia, kick-off 20:00 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
