Memphis Depay, José Martínez and Cacá to miss Corinthians trip to Velo Clube | OneFootball

Corinthians visit Velo Clube in Rio Claro at 20:30 on Sunday in the Campeonato Paulista, with three players ruled out.

According to Meu Timao, Dorival Júnior otherwise has a near-full group, and Uruguayan right-back Pedro Milans is in the squad and could start.

Memphis Depay remains absent as he continues strengthening work to avoid last year's repeated fitness issues. He has begun field work but is being rested, with the expectation of a Supercopa do Brasil return against Flamengo on 1 February.

Venezuelan midfielder José Martínez has yet to feature this season. He has stayed in Venezuela to address passport matters and was due back last Friday, but the club has not updated his status, a situation that has caused annoyance at Corinthians, particularly for Dorival Júnior, who has voiced his dissatisfaction more than once.

Defender Cacá also misses out with a strain to the left internal oblique, an abdominal muscle. He was unavailable for the 1-1 draws with São Paulo and Santos and remains out.

For the first time this year, Corinthians have players one booking from suspension. Midfielders André Luiz and Peruvian André Carrillo will miss Capivariano next if cautioned against Velo Clube.

Corinthians sit eighth on five points. With half of the first phase played, staying inside the top eight will be key to reaching the knockout rounds.
