Memphis Depay has been named in the Corinthians squad for the first time in two months after recovering from a grade two injury to the front of his right thigh, sustained against Flamengo in the 2026 Brasileirão on 22 March.
He will start on the bench for Sunday's 18:30 kick-off against Atlético-MG, with Yuri Alberto and Jesse Lingard leading the line. According to Meu Timao, he was close to returning in April but suffered a setback attributed to a medical preparation error, and he was held back against Peñarol in the Libertadores due to discomfort in his left calf.
There is also uncertainty over a Netherlands call-up scheduled for 27 May. Ronald Koeman has yet to guarantee his inclusion, saying the forward needs minutes to be considered.
The expectation is that he will feature against Atlético-MG, then face Platense of Argentina on 27 May. If called up, he would miss Corinthians' game against Grêmio on 30 May, the day the Netherlands squad assembles.
His contract with Corinthians expires on 20 June and no new deal has been agreed. The club are seeking partners to help fund an extension, while Memphis has accepted a renegotiation of money owed and is open to a salary reduction.
