Our Juventus Men’s FIrst Team players on international duty had friendlies keeping them busy on Saturday, 28 March, and things went relatively well for the Bianconeri involved.
Jonathan David was the first up for Canada as they took on Iceland. The Europeans raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening 21 minutes, but David scored twice to lead Canada’s comeback in their 2-2 draw.
Weston McKennie was also on target for the USMNT, as they took on Lois Openda’s Belgium in Atlanta. An unfortunate kit choice made things tough for viewers to differentiate between the teams, but fans tuning in were at least consoled by seven goals, with Belgium taking a 5-2 win over their hosts. Openda played the final 30 minutes for the Red Devils.
Last up was Francisco Conceicao, who played 45 minutes for Portugal in their goalless draw away to Mexico.
