Mercato – Ferran Torres, a genuine target… but still a long way off

Paris Saint-Germain are keeping an eye on Ferran Torres, the 26-year-old Spanish forward from FC Barcelona, as they look to strengthen their attack. According to Fabrice Hawkins for RMC Sport, the player is on a shortlist of three profiles being monitored by Paris, but the initial contacts have not yet led to any agreement.

“Ferran Torres is on a shortlist of three names that interest PSG in attack. While there have indeed been contacts between the FC Barcelona player and the capital club, no agreement has yet been reached. The Spanish international is under contract until 2027.”

Fabrice Hawkins’ reliability gives weight to the existence of this lead, but the information is still fairly limited. Ferran Torres is only one of the three players being considered, and the contacts mentioned do not necessarily mean that genuine negotiations are underway between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona. Moreover, this does not necessarily contradict Joan Laporta, who recently said he had no official confirmation. Given the relationship between the two clubs, it would therefore be premature to present this case as being at an advanced stage.
