FULL TIME
FULL TIME: JORDAN 2-1 ALGERIA
Heartbreak for Jordan as Algeria claw back to a 2-1 comeback win over the debutant nation, who are now eliminated from the 2026 World Cup.
We'll have seven minutes of added time.
This was agonizingly close...

A pair of final dice rolls by both head coaches as we edge toward stoppage time.
If this scoreline holds, Jordan will be eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, with Algeria primed to fight for an automatic birth in the Round of 32.

GOAL!! JORDAN 1-2 ALGERIA
Reversal complete?!!?
Algeria make it 2-1 in the 82nd minute after they strike from a set-piece in the dying minutes!
Marseille talisman Amine Gouiri redirects past Abulaila to flick home the possible winner!
And the goal has been confirmed after a VAR check, with shouts for both offside and a possible handball turned away!

And we're into the final ten minutes of action in the Bay Area...
Algeria have a corner...
We're through the second break, and both sides have made chances as we creep closer to the final ten minutes.

GOAL!! JORDAN 1-1 ALGERIA
Algeria have finally gotten back on level terms!
One chance after another has finally paid off, with Nadir Benbouali once again winning his header in the box, but this time, generating enough power to see it glide past Abulaila!
It's their first World Cup goal since 2014!

CHANCE!
Algeria have another crack at it, with substitute Nadir Benbouali glancing a headed effort toward goal, but it's far too tame to truly test Abulaila.
CHANCE!
Algerian and Leverkusen starlet Ibrahim Maza comes close to leveling the scoreline at one-all, dancing into the box before unleashing a drive that is, unfortunately, just high and wide of Yazeed Yazeed Abulaila's near post.
PLAY RESUMES
We're back at it for the second stanza, and it's a pair of changes by Algeria that gets the ball rolling.

HALF-TIME: JORDAN 1-0 ALGERIA
It's hardly gone according to plan for Algeria, with Jordan taking a one-goal lead into the interval thanks to a hit from Nizar Al Rashdan.
The Fennec Foxes had their chances to open the scoring, particularly through Riyad Mahrez.
Instead, Jamal Sellami's Chivalrous Ones are 45 minutes away from a first-ever World Cup win.
GOAL!!! JORDAN 1-0 ALGERIA
And Jordan make Mahrez and Algeria pay!
It's an opener in the 36th minute via a deft, outside of the boot finish by Nizar Al Rashdan, who puts it low into the corner past Zidane!
Jordan is now a little over one-half of football away from their first-ever points haul at the World Cup.
CHANCE!
That's a second opportunity for Mahrez this evening, but he's denied at the final ask as Jordan hangs on to a nil-nil scoreline.
And we're back in action
The first hydration break is upon us
A half-decent chance falls at the feet of Mahrez, and though he breaks his way into the Jordanian box, he can only stumble over himself at the final moment before being able to unleash a drive at goal from close range.
Jordan are lively, despite their underdog status, as main-man Mousa Tamari unleashes a well-hit drive from outside of the box, but Luca Zidane collects it comfortably.
Algeria are on the front foot to open proceedings, and they'll really be fancying themselves for a result given some of the star power in their ranks.
KICK OFF
Jordan and Algeria kick off in San Francisco.
It's a night where Jordan cannot afford to taste defeat, else they face an early ticket home from the World Cup.
We're less than 15 minutes away from player walk-outs, national anthems, and kick-off in the first-ever competitive meeting between Jordan and Algeria.
Stay tuned!
Jordan are in the spotlight as they look to shut down Riyad Mahrez and Algeria.

COMING UP NEXT
Jordan and Algeria close out all the action from another full slate at the 2026 World Cup.
Here are the XIs for the two nations set to lock horns in San Francisco...
Here's a look at what is at stake when France and Norway, Mbappé and Haaland, lock horns on Friday in Boston.
Norway will need to win if they're to top Group I, with the tactical chess match between Didier Deschamps and Ståle Solbakken coming into focus as soon as tomorrow.
FULL TIME: NORWAY 3-2 SENEGAL
A late surge from the Lions of Teranga, and a brace from Ismaïla Sarr, was not enough to avoid defeat against two-goal-getter Erling Haaland and Norway, who confirm passage to the Round of 32 and a blockbuster clash vs France in the final round of group stage fixtures.
Senegal are not eliminated yet, and will need a big win over Iraq if they're to reach the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed nations.

GOAL!! NORWAY 3-2 SENEGAL
A second bite at the lifeline apple for Senegal, with a late, late goal from Sarr, who completes his own brace on the night, and pushes France back to the top of Group I on goal difference in the process!
Oh, and now he's also Norway's all-time top goalscorer at a men's World Cup, passing Kjetil Rekdal, who scored one goal each at USA '94 and France '98.
And here, too
More nonsense numbers from Haaland here
We're through the second of two hydration breaks and into the final 15 minutes (plus stoppage) of action here.
It's gone from bad to worse for Senegal, who are forced to replace Mendy with fellow veteran Mory Diaw.
And this is exactly the Golden Boot race we all signed up for this summer, with plenty left to come.
GOAL!!! NORWAY 3-1 SENEGAL
BUT HAALAND HAS OTHER IDEAS!
Brace number two this summer for the Norwegian goal machine, who restores the two-goal advantage on the night with an easy one-touch finish after Senegal, once again, falls asleep at the back.
GOAL!!! NORWAY 2-1 SENEGAL
But it's not over yet!
Senegal gets right back in it just moments later through Ismaïla Sarr!
That could no doubt prove vital to their chances of progression into the Round of 32!

GOAL!!! NORWAY 2-0 SENEGAL
And it didn't take long for Norway to double their advantage on the night, with Erling Haaland pouncing less than three minutes after the restart to make it two-nil!
A typical ruthless finish from the Man City man, with another lackluster moment from Senegal at the back, who remain sixes and sevens in their own third of the pitch.
That's now 58 goals in 52 caps for Haaland, who has scored in 12 straight competitive fixtures for Norway.
PLAY RESUMES
We're back underway in New York-New Jersey.
Another change from Norway sees Patrick Berg come on to replace Fredrik Aursnes.
More post-match from France-Iraq, thanks to our friends at Opta
HALF-TIME: NORWAY 1-0 SENEGAL
Senegal are staring down the barrel of a possible group stage exit as they trail Norway one-nil at half-time, thanks to a goal from substitute Marcus Holmgren Pedersen.
FULL TIME: FRANCE 3-0 IRAQ
Kylian Mbappé was once again the man of the moment for France, leading Les Bleus to a comfortable 3-0 win over Iraq, with Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise also starring on the night.
GOAL! NORWAY 1-0 SENEGAL
Erling Haaland and company break the deadlock just minutes before the break, with substitute Marcus Holmgren Pedersen bagging his first-ever goal for Norway, finally beating Mendy in the wake of a horror moment at the back by Senegal.
Mendy has been at his best tonight for Senegal, once again denying Norway an opener as the half-time interval beckons.
We're into the final 10 minutes plus stoppage in Philadelphia, with Mbappé gunning for a three-goal night as he looks to pile pressure on Lionel Messi.
We've already had our first hydration break in Norway-Senegal, and the scoreline there remains nil-nil.
With two assists on the night, Michael Olise is now joint top of the assists chart (3) alongside Sweden's Alexander Isak.
GOAL!!! FRANCE 3-0 IRAQ
Ousmane Dembélé makes it three-nil to Les Bleus, for his first-ever World Cup goal.
Just before the change, Senegal's Edouard Mendy made a ridiculous stop from close range to deny Kristoffer Ajer an early opener.
Further north, Norway are forced into an early change.
Julian Ryerson comes off injured and is replaced by Marcus Holmgren Pedersen.
CHANCES!
That's nearly three for Les Bleus, but an audacious effort from Olise can only rattle the bar!
Soon after, Adrien Rabiot shockingly heads wide at the far post from just four yards out!
GOAL!! FRANCE 2-0 IRAQ
It's Mbappé at the double! Brace complete, and he's now level with Miroslav Klose for second on the all-time World Cup goalscoring list, and now sits on 60 goals in 100 caps for France!
That's also 16 goals in 16 World Cup appearances for him.
UPDATE:
Norway and Senegal kick off in New York-New Jersey, while France and Iraq are back in action after a lengthy weather delay.
A win for Norway guarantees them passage into the knockout stage, with France on course to do the same as they lead 1-0 with 45 minutes remaining in Philadelphia.
We're just a few minutes from the restart in Philadelphia.
Norway-Senegal will be getting underway in ten minutes, just north up the I-95 in New York-New Jersey.
We'll have coverage of both!
At least fans are trying to have fun with it all!
And another weather update...
🚨 LINE UP ALERT
Norway and Senegal name their XIs for an evening at New York-New Jersey Stadium.
There's been no change from either side this evening.
Here's the latest weather update from Philadelphia, with the delay extended after a recent lightning strike in the area.
From The Athletic:
"A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 7pm, with winds at around 60mph and heavy rain."
"An isolated tornado is a possibility."
Summer storms on the East Coast of the United States, everyone 😬⛈️
Per reports from USA broadcaster FOX, the National Weather Service has extended the severe thunderstorm warning until at least 6:45pm local time.
There have been no lightning strikes to extend the delay, but should others occur, the restart is, once again, pushed back.
Players are expected to begin warming up for the second half in 20-30 minutes, and officials are aiming for a 7pm local time restart.
Stay tuned for more details as they come in.
And it looks like we will have severe weather and an extended stoppage of play in Philadelphia, as those in the ground have been warned to seek shelter.
HALF-TIME: FRANCE 1-0 IRAQ
Kylian Mbappé's 15th World Cup goal is the difference between France and Iraq on a weathered pitch in Philadelphia.
Will the Les Bleus star find another to pull level with Miroslav Klose? Stay tuned for the second half.

Three minutes of added time stand between France and a one-nil lead at the break.
It's pouring in Philly, with less than four minutes remaining in the half.
Players are losing their footing during the run of play, with wind now reportedly also picking up.
And we're now getting weather in Philly.
This was a huge possibility, and with potential thunderstorms (and lightning) coming with it, is the first weather stoppage of the World Cup this summer en route?

Still just 27, Mbappé has, at least, one more World Cup left in him and plenty of caps for France to come.
As he continues to pile on his record goal tally for Les Bleus, will anyone pass him after he calls time on his glistening career?

France have settled into cruise control here as we reach the 35th minute.
Michael Olise, who has quickly become a vital cog in the wheel for Les Bleus, is also having a bright start to the summer campaign.
Now on two assists after Mbappé's opener, the Bayern man is just the second France international (after Mbappé) since 2000 to register 11 goal contributions in his first 19 caps (7 goals, 4 assists).
Per Statsdufoot
Play resumes for the remainder of the opening 45 minutes in Philadelphia..
And that's an unexpected early sub by Iraq, which sees captain Aymen Hussein come off amid injury speculation.
He's been replaced by Ali Al Hamadi.
And now, time for the first hydration break...
More on Mbappé:
That's his 11th goal for France in his last 12 caps.
It's hard to imagine that he doesn't have at least one more in him before the evening comes to an end.
And with his third strike of the tournament, he pulls level with Deniz Undav and Jonathan David in the race for the Golden Boot.
GOAL!!! FRANCE 1-0 IRAQ
It's that man Mbappé to break the deadlock inside the opening 15 minutes of action.
That's his 15th World Cup goal, and he's now just one behind Miroslav Klose for second in the all-time goalscoring chart.
France are knocking early, with half-chances via half-volleys from both Mbappé and Michael Olise failing to come to fruition.
We've had our first booking of the evening after Ekstraklasa-based Amir Al-Ammari brings down Mbappé 40 yards from goal. The resulting free kick comes to nothing, though...
KICK OFF
And we're underway in Philadelphia for France vs Iraq, with threats of thunderstorms/severe weather lurking in the distance.
One final touching story before we get the action underway
We're less than ten minutes away from kick-off in Philadelphia
France and Kylian Mbappé look to guarantee passage into the knockout stage, with the Les Bleus star builds on his own World Cup (and potentially goalscoring) legacy.
As for Iraq, a first-ever point at the World Cup is on the cards, and in doing so, would post one of the biggest upsets of the summer.
Both nations are set to walk out on the pitch ahead of national anthems, and then we're underway.
20 minutes until kick-off...
There had been concerns over whether kick-off would be delayed due to the weather in Philadelphia but the stadium is open to spectators and warm ups are underway!
Arrivals in Philadelphia
A milestone for Kylian Mbappé...
Team news ahead of France vs Iraq...
France XI: Maignan, Digne, Upamecano, Kounde, Saliba, Kone, Rabiot, Dembele, Mbappe, M. Olise, Barcola
Iraq XI: Basil, Ali, Tahseen, Hashim, Doski, Bayesh, Iqbal, Alammari, Ismael, Qasem, Hussein
Showing no signs of slowing down...
Just two legends!
FT: Argentina 2-0 Austria
GOAL! MESSI AGAIN!
The history maker is at it again!! Right at the death, a counter attack ends with Argentina's golden boy finding the net after a number of attempted blocks from Austria.
He's simply unstoppable.
Argentina 2-0 Austria
WIDE!
A late free-kick ends with a glimmer of hope for Austria. It's headed narrowly wide by Patrick Wimmer.
Argentina 1-0 Austria
Into added time...
Five extra minutes to be played at the end of the second half.
CLOSE!
An opening for Argentina as substitute Nicolás González gets a shot away. It's blocked and the opportunity eventually passes.
Argentina 1-0 Austria
In the final 10 minutes...
Six minutes of the 90 left to play and Argentina still lead. Very few chances for either side so far in this second half.
Are we in for some late drama?
Argentina 1-0 Austria
Back in play!
Will Austria find an equaliser, or will Argentina secure their second win of the tournament?
Hydration break...
A quiet second half so far and now we pause for a quick break.
BLOCK!
Argentina nearly make it two after a well-worked move but the eventual effort from Enzo Fernández is blocked by Kevin Danso.
Argentina 1-0 Austria
SAVE!
Austria win a free-kick and Marcel Sabitzer goes for goal. It's a decent save from Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martínez!
Argentina 1-0 Austria
CHANCE!
Messi is played through 1v1 but the danger is dealt with by the Austrian defence. There was a hint of offside anyway, so a goal wouldn't have stood.
Argentina 1-0 Austria
KICK OFF!
Back underway for the second half.
That calls for another hydration break for us. We'll be back as soon as the second half starts.
HALF TIME! Argentina 1-0 Austria
Lionel Messi missed a penalty early on but he more than made up for that late in the 45 with a fantastic finish. It's been a superb first half.
A great stat about Messi here too ...
The noise in the stadium has just gone up another notch. It really does feel like a home game for Argentina.
A lovely graphic of where all of Messi's World Cup goals have come from ...
Argentina play their way out of trouble in their own half and now try to release Messi. The goalscorer goes down a blind alley though and Austria regain possession. They're really pushing for that goal before half time.
Schlager goes on a run down the left but his cross is a poor one. It's been the story of the half for this Austria side.
Seven minutes have been added to the first half.
We're into the last minute of normal time in the first half in what's been a fantastic opening 45 minutes. Can Austria find an equaliser before half time?
The best of the lot ...
That's 17 goals in 28 games for Messi now, one ahead of Miroslav Klose.
Simply the best ...
If you had to close your eyes and imagine a Lionel Messi goal, this was it. A cross from the left found the Inter Miami man on the edge of the area, and he swept home first time into the bottom corner.
GOAL! Argentina 1-0 Austria
Messi becomes the World Cup's all time goalscorer with a typically stunning finish from the edge of the area.
It had to be him. What a goal.
Argentina break but it comes to nothing. Enzo Fernandez went marauding down the left but his cross couldn't find anyone in the Austria box.
Sabitzer is fouled by Medina with Austria on the brink of a promising counter-attack. It's getting a bit tense out there.
This has been a fascinating first 30 minutes with both sides looking very evenly matched. We're still goalless in Dallas though.
The full rundown of those Messi missed penalties ...
Austria have another corner but that's also cleared well by Romero. Rangnick's side really are looking dangerous though.
The players have hydrated and we're back underway.
And here's the signal for the first hydration break. And the crowd are booing heartily.
The corner is whipped in but it's headed out well by Romero.
Austria are knocking at the door again. This time Sabitzer reacts fastest to a loose ball in the area but his shot is blocked and goes out for a corner.
CHANCE!
Messi gets played in on goal but the Inter Miami man can't quite sort of his feet out and Schlager clears the danger. He's getting closer.
Some more damning stats from Messi and his penalty record ...
This has been an excellent first 15 minutes. Sabitzer is dangerous down the left but his cross goes over the head of everyone in the box.
Not a great record for the little man ...
Sabitzer is the man taking the free kick but it's a poor one and is cleared away by the first man.
That seems to have rocked Argentina with Austria in charge of the ball for a brief period. Austria push forward and win themselves a free kick in a dangerous position on the left-hand side.
Poor Leo ...
In truth it was a very poor penalty from Messi. His run up was incredibly casual and then he got too much on the ball and whipped it wide of the right-hand post. The wait for history goes on.
MISS! Lionel Messi had the chance to break the World Cup scoring record but MISSED the target. It was a poor one.
And now Messi has the chance to break the World Cup goalscoring record.
PENALTY!
The more you look at that, the more it does look like a foul on Lautaro. Let's see what the referee decides.
The referee is being sent across to the screen here.
The Argentina players are still speaking to the referee and he's now checking the foul! Are we about to get an overturned decision here?
Lautaro is still down for Argentina and is now being seen by the physios.
Penalty?! No! The referee waves away the protests after Lautaro was taken down in the area. The crowd aren't having that.
It was given as a corner but that's been overturned and now Austria have their first chance of some possession.
Argentina are enjoying most of the ball early on and have earned themselves a corner inside two minutes.
The countdown is happening ... and we have kick off in Dallas!!
Some mind games early on in the tunnel earlier ...
It's safe to say that Argentina fans are outnumbering their Austrian counterparts in Dallas but the Austrians are really belting out their anthem right now.
We're out on the pitch with the anthems just a few minutes away. The atmosphere is electric.
The teams are in the tunnel and kick off is not too far away.
A stat on the BBC coverage of this game has just revealed that Austria made more high speed runs against Jordan than any other side on Matchday 1.
Here's your 15 minute warning for kick off in Dallas.
And here's the main man ...
Argentina are looking well up for this ...
Just under half an hour to go until kick off here. And a note that the roof is on and the AC is cranked up inside the stadium in Dallas.
Outside of the game today, Alan Shearer has been looking ahead to tomorrow's England match ...
Not only is Messi chasing the all-time scorer record today, but another record could go his way too ...
Sign us up for some of this ...
Some great stuff from the Austria fans ...
This is what the World Cup is all about ...
Marcel Sabitzer will be making his 100th appearance for Austria today ...
Some more of the madness from Dallas here ...
The team news is in from the FIFA website and the GOAT takes his place in attack ...

Dallas is looking the part ...
Things won't be going all Messi's way today though. He's facing an Austria side who impressed in their opening game and are really humming under the tutelage of Ralf Rangnick. This really is going to be a fascinating match.
Messi has got 16 goals across his six World Cups and now needs just one more to go alone in the rankings. The multiple Ballon d'Or winner scored a hat-trick in his last match against Algeria, so don't count against him doing something similar again later.
Good afternoon everyone and welcome to our World Cup live blog on a day in which history could be made! Lionel Messi is just one away from overtaking Miroslav Klose as the World Cup's all-time scorer. Can he do it? We'll find out in about 90 minutes time.
