Mexico showed its mettle to overcome one of the most difficult groups in the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile, securing its ticket to the Round of 16 after defeating Morocco 1-0, with an important Rojiblanca contribution to Eduardo Arce's team.
The Aztec team depended on itself to secure the ticket, as a win or a draw, combined with another draw in the match between Spain and Brazil, would grant it passage to the next round as second place in Group C.
Yael Padilla started in the Mexican team's starting lineup, with an outstanding performance in the Mexican attack, contributing his speed and shots on goal during the 81 minutes he was on the field.
Hugo Camberos, meanwhile, came on as a substitute in the 54th minute, pushing forward on the right, offering width in that area, and even helping the Mexican team win important fouls in the final stages of the match.
Mexico now knows its opponent in the Round of 16, which will be none other than the host country, whom it will face next Tuesday, October 7, at 1:30 p.m. (TCM) at the Elías Figueroa Brander Stadium in Valparaíso.
