Mexico seal top spot, set for home tie in round of 32 | OneFootball

Mexico clinched Group A with a 1-0 win over South Korea on Thursday.

L'Équipe notes that top spot guarantees a round-of-32 tie on home soil and could keep El Tri at home for the last 16.

They have already played their first two group matches at home and will also host their final group game against Czechia on Thursday at 3.00.

The bracket places Mexico in a first knockout on 1 July in Mexico City against a third-placed team from groups C, E, F, H or I.

If they win that match, the last 16 would also be staged in Mexico City, against the winner of Group L or a third-placed side from E, H, I, J or K.

From the quarter-finals onward, all ties are in the USA, so Mexico would have to leave home if they progress.
