Leeds’ top-flight status is already secure, achieved before Monday’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur, where they came from behind to draw with their season-long relegation rivals. Brighton sit seventh, two points behind sixth-placed Bournemouth, a position that could deliver Champions League qualification this season.

Oliver has overseen three Leeds matches this season, including November’s 3-0 defeat at the Amex, February’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, and September’s 2-2 home draw with Bournemouth. He averages 22.81 fouls and 3.04 yellow cards per match, placing him among the more lenient Premier League officials.

Attwell is a familiar name for Leeds supporters after February’s 1-0 home defeat by Sunderland, when appeals for a penalty following Luke O'Nien’s hold on Pascal Struijk were waved away and VAR Paul Tierney did not advise an on-field review. A subsequent Key Match Incidents panel unanimously deemed the decision incorrect, and Daniel Farke expressed strong frustration afterwards.
