Corinthians has finalized the signing of Alisson as a reinforcement for 2026, who is expected to arrive on loan from São Paulo until the end of the season. However, even though he was a reinforcement requested by Dorival Júnior, the coaching staff will not be able to count on the player for the Paulistão, due to the regulation that limits players to participating for only one club.

“Art. 27 (Eligibility to play) – The athlete may only be registered by a single club participating in the 2026 São Paulo State Professional Football Championships First Division, regardless of the division,” states one of the articles drafted by the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) for the regulation of the four divisions of the Paulistão.

Because of this, he will only be able to play in Brasileirão matches and the Supercopa do Brasil, if he is signed in time for the match. In addition, Corinthians will also compete in the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil this season.

Alisson was requested by Dorival Júnior to the club’s directors and, after the derby against Santos, the arrival of the midfielder was practically secured. Together, they won the 2023 Copa do Brasil with São Paulo, when the coach changed the player’s position. He used to be an attacking midfielder and started playing further back as a defensive midfielder, gaining prominence.

Corinthians has already made three signings official for 2026: Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Pereira, and Pedro Milans. The third has not yet debuted and will be presented by the club this Saturday (24th). In addition to Alisson, the People’s Team is also awaiting the arrival of Kaio César, who belongs to Al Hilal, from Saudi Arabia, and will join on a one-year loan.
