Manchester City Women are enjoying a 3-0 lead against rival Manchester United at Old Trafford, and they have Vivianne Miedema to thank for kick-starting the rout.
The Dutch superstar has been at her goalscoring best this afternoon at the famous ground, bagging a quick-fire brace for the visitors as City look to extend their lead at the summit of the WSL table across what had been a dominant opening half of play.
Miedema's first came in the 17th minute when she did well to rise highest in the box to head home Alex Greenwood's inswinging corner.
It would be a perfect bit of service on display once again for her second two minutes later, with Miedema once again heading home, this time, free and clear in the box to turn in Kerstin Casparij's floated ball at the near post.
Though Bunny Shaw (18) has raced ahead at the top of the WSL goalscoring chart, Miedema has had little trouble showing that her instincts in front of goal remain elite.
With a brace that sees the veteran striker become the first player in league history to score 10 or more goals in five different seasons, Miedema remains a key figure for Andrée Jeglertz's side.
