Mikayil Faye agrees to join Nürnberg  | OneFootball

2. Bundesliga side Nürnberg have reached full agreement to sign Mikayil Faye on a one-year loan with an option to buy, according to Sky Germany.

The 22 year-old Senegalese centre-back will join from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais. 

Faye has so far made 11 league appearances for his parent club but spent last season on loan at Italian outfit Cremonese where he managed to play eight times in the Serie A. Faye has also made 10 appearances for the Senegal U17 national team and has a single appearance for the senior national side. 

Faye has been regarded as a player who is strong in aerial duels and passing as well as interception of the ball. A player who was also part of the Barcelona Academy, he is expected to add strength to Nürnberg in the 2. Bundesliga as they look to gain promotion to the top division under former Germany striker Miroslav Klose. 

According to Sky Germany, a medical has been scheduled within the next 48 hours before Faye is unveiled as the new Nürnberg player.
