Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has revealed the details of a good luck message sent the way of he and his players by Real Madrid counterpart Carlo Ancelotti.
Arsenal and Real, of course, locked horns on the continent once more last night.
With the latter requiring a minor miracle to advance from the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs following a 3-0 first-leg drubbing, the Gunners only drove home their superiority.
Owing to goals on the part of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, the evening’s visitors triumphed by two goals to one, for a 5-1 aggregate result.
One member of the camp at Real Madrid who evidently holds no hard feelings towards Arsenal, though, comes in the form of the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.
This comes with Mikel Arteta, speaking to the media post-match in Spain’s capital, having revealed:
“Carlo Ancelotti told me that he hopes Arsenal win the Champions League!”
