Milan delegates in England to talk Hojlund with Man United | OneFootball

Reports in Italy claim that Milan have sent delegates to England in order to discuss a potential deal with Manchester United for former Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, who is increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

After a transfer window that has already brought the arrivals of Ardon Jashari, Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci, Pervis Estupinan, Pietro Terracciano and soon Zachary Athekame as well, Milan are looking for one more player to come in, specifically at centre-forward to provide competition for Santiago Gimenez.

Reports over the summer transfer window have indicated that Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic is a strong possibility for the Rossoneri, but updates over the last 24 hours suggest that United’s Hojlund is becoming an increasingly viable option.

Why Milan prefer Hojlund over Vlahovic

Even though Hojlund is expected to cost more than Vlahovic in terms of a transfer fee, Milan are not expected to have any issues on personal terms with the Denmark international, who reportedly earns around €3m per season.

The same cannot be said for Vlahovic, who will earn four times as much as Hojlund this season in the final year of his Juventus contract.

And, with Manchester United reportedly getting closer to RB Leipzig centre-forward Benjamin Sesko, it becomes increasingly possible that Hojlund is allowed to leave after two years in the Premier League.

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have sent delegates to England to discuss a potential deal for Hojlund with United.

Those representatives will be joined by a larger travelling Rossoneri party this weekend, when the squad travel over for a friendlies against Leeds United in Dublin and against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Pink Paper adds that United will seek a fee in the region of €30m-€35m to sell Hojlund this summer, and that Milan are inclined to offer an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
