Milan are continuing to explore a possible move for former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, and Rossoneri sporting director Igli Tare has recently met with representatives from the player’s entourage to discuss the deal further, Football Italia can confirm.
Milan are looking to rebuild their midfield department in the summer transfer window following the departure of Tijjani Reijnders for Manchester City, the expected departure of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and a possible move to Napoli for Yunus Musah.
Xhaka is a player that the Rossoneri like a lot, as does new head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is keen to bring the experienced midfielder to San Siro.

Football Italia understands that Milan sporting director Tare met with Xhaka’s agents in Germany on Monday in an attempt to find the right terms to convince Leverkusen into selling the 32-year-old, who remains under contract for another three years, until the summer of 2028.
Leverkusen, who have already sold key players in Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong this summer, are keen to avoid losing another first-team mainstay, and will therefore push for as big a transfer fee as possible.
Milan, however, will continue to push for the Switzerland international’s signature.
