It was a familiar story for Milan Futuro in their miserable first season as they took the lead against Pontedera but were unable to see it out, eventually drawing 1-1.
Since Massimo Oddo took over the team from Daniele Bonera, who was sacked, the Rossoneri have only claimed one point (three games), finding themselves in bottom place. In their most recent game the Futuro led away against Pineta after a great first half, but then collapsed in the second to lose 2-1.
The first half of this afternoon’s game against Pontedera was a cagey one with very little to show in terms of quality chances, but the second half began at a more frantic pace and saw two goals scored inside the final 20 minutes.
In the 73rd minute Milan took the lead. A free-kick by Davide Bartesaghi was met by a save from Tantalocchi, but on the rebound Michele Camporese was there to pounce and he made no mistake from close range.
Nevertheless, only ten minutes passed before Pontedera were able to equalise. A corner met the head of Corona and – thanks to some questionable goalkeeping from Noah Raveyre – it nestled in for the equaliser.
After five minutes of injury time, the referee blew the final whistle to mark another draw for Massimo Oddo’s Milan. With this draw, the Rossoneri move to 24 points in the standings and they are 12 points from safety. Direct relegation remains a risk, with the play-offs almost certainly a best case scenario.
