Milan Futuro's rearranged Serie D matchday 29 fixture away at Real Calepina ended 1-0 to the hosts. An Oboe goal on the hour mark won it in Grumello del Monte. It's a tough result to take for the Rossoneri, who deserved more given what they produced this afternoon. They created a raft of chances and were positive in their attitude, in a game decided by the single episodes. They will rue Magrassi hitting the post at the start of the second half, with the game still goalless.
This result ends an unbeaten run away from home that began back in November, though we are still well in the hunt for the play-offs, five points behind ChievoVerona and two ahead of the chasing pack. We should make a mention of a Milan Futuro debut for Luca Menon, who has starred for the Under-17s this season and played well in the final half an hour. He is the second 2009-born player to feature in the team this season, after Mattia Mercogliano. After this game, we enter the final run-in of the league phase of the competition. Up next, we take on Brusaporto away from home at 15:00 CEST on Sunday.

MATCH REPORT It wasn't a particularly fast start to proceedings in Grumello del Monte, as both sides were figuring each other out. The first chance of the game fell the way of the Rossoneri in the 20th minute, when Magrassi's cross-cum-shot was blocked behind by Moretta. From the ensuing corner, the Real Calepina goalkeeper got down well to divert Cappelletti's well-struck effort away from goal. The tempo of the game didn't rise any further, though, in the 27th minute, Traorè wriggled free with a series of dummies and cut it back for Sala, who sent his effort whistling wide of the upright. In the final quarter of an hour of the first half, both sides tried to break the deadlock, but neither team managed to test their respective opposition goalkeeper.
The start of the second half was much livelier. In the 47th minute, Cortesi sent his shot just over. Then, Magrassi had two big chances; the first was an attempt from inside the six-yard box that was smothered by the defence (50'), and the second was an effort that hit the post before Geroli fired off target on the rebound. The Rossoneri kept at it and saw a headed effort by Sardo scrambled clear by the defence. Just as Milan Futuro were on top, Real Calepina hit the front through an Oboe header (62'). Massimo Oddo tried to rescue the situation with a raft of changes. Scotti looked the likeliest to net an equaliser, sending two shots over the bar in the 74th and 89th minutes. The scoreline did not change, however, not even in the five minutes of stoppage time. It ended 1-0.
