Milan are expected to pay up to €53-55m for PSG striker Goncalo Ramos, making him the club record signing, but do you know who their other top purchases were?

Multiple sources including The Athletic, Calciomercato, RMC Sport and more all now claim that the two clubs have shaken hands on an agreement for the striker.

It is believed that he already underwent his medical tests in Florida, where Portugal are based for their World Cup matches.

The fee including add-ons and various bonuses is expected to reach €53-55m in total, which would be a new all-time club transfer record.

Their highest ever before this was also for a Portugal international, Rafael Leao, although his path to the ultimate €49.5m fee was somewhat tortuous.

Milan had originally paid €30m to buy him from LOSC in 2018, but after he lost the legal battle with previous club Sporting CP over terminating that contract unilaterally, the Rossoneri agreed to help out by paying the extra €20.2m in compensation.

Leonardo Bonucci was the next most expensive Milan signing at €42m from Juventus in 2017, while they paid €41.32m for Manuel Rui Costa from Fiorentina in 2001.

Lucas Paquetá was fourth from Flamengo at €38.4m in 2018-19, while Andre Silva cost €38m from FC Porto the year before.

Bizarrely, Mattia Caldara is the sixth most costly signing at €37.74m from Juventus in 2018-19, because he had a devastating injury, went on loan to Atalanta, Venezia, Spezia and Modena, until retiring in 2025.

He only ever made three appearances in the Rossoneri jersey.
