Mina helps Cagliari attract fellow Colombian Quintero | OneFootball

Cagliari defender Yerry Mina is actively working to convince fellow Colombia international Juan Fernando Quintero to join him from River Plate.

There have been reports of an approach for Quintero from the Sardinians, and they are growing, even if there remains a significant gap between offer and demand.

The fans are enthusiastic about the idea and they have a not so secret weapon, because Cagliari defender Mina is working to get a deal over the line too.

The centre-back not only commented on a social media post referencing the negotiation process, but also tagged Quintero directly.

It would be a return to Serie A for the 33-year-old, who already played for Pescara in the 2012-13 season.

He joined River Plate from CD America in July 2025, and has a release clause in his contract set at $30m.

Quintero has 53 senior caps for Colombia and was in the World Cup squad at the 2026 tournament, appearing in four of his country’s five games.
