Mirassol punish Internacional with first half goals to end winless run

Mirassol beat Internacional 2-1 in Porto Alegre, ending a nine-match league winless run and climbing from 20th to 18th, while the hosts sit 15th.
In the 22nd minute Lucas Oliveira turned in Alesson's cross to put the visitors ahead. André Luis then finished a through ball from Alesson on the stroke of half time (45.) to double the lead.
After the break Inter introduced fresh legs and piled on pressure. Alan Patrick pulled one back in the third minute of second half stoppage time, finding the top left after a lay-off from Rafael Borre.
Walter was outstanding, making six saves to keep Mirassol in control. Willian Machado led a defiant back line with 15 clearances.
Inter dominated the ball with 72.1% possession and produced 24 attempts, plus 11 corners. Mirassol were compact and direct, registering 10 attempts and two corners as they protected their advantage.
Next, Inter visit Athletic in the Copa do Brasil. Mirassol travel to RB Bragantino in the Copa do Brasil.
