AC Milan face Juventus in Turin on Saturday, and after Sergio Conceicao’s press conference, we can take a look at how the team may line up.
The big news from the head coach’s words is that Milan will be without Christian Pulisic, and with Samuel Chukwueze out injured, the only real replacement is Alex Jimenez. Milan News‘ most recent report suggests it will be the Spaniard on the wing, rather than any other alternatives.
In midfield, the head coach also stated that Bennacer and Fofana would start as the ‘double pivot’ which insinuates towards a 4-4-2, or a 4-2-3-1, rather than a 4-3-3, per se.
This could mean that Reijnders is tried on the left, perhaps, in a role like how Fede Valverde played in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system with Real Madrid previously. However, this is an idea based on the double pivot suggestion, rather than the definite.
Defensively, there will also be a change. In defence, Matteo Gabbia will return after Malick Thiaw’s injury. It will be his first start under Conceicao, and considering how he has previously taken opportunities, it may be the start of something good.
Barring that, the team should remain unchanged as the Rossoneri face arguably the biggest game for Conceicao yet.
