Mo Salah closing in on mammoth deal as contract details leaked | OneFootball

The Egyptian King left Liverpool at the end of June. He reached an agreement with sporting director Richard Hughes to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.

Since then the 34-year-old has been linked with a whole host of clubs.

Sides in the Saudi Pro League have always been prominent in the race to sign Salah. Al-Ittihad tried to sign him for £150m back in 2023 but Salah and Liverpool declined the deal.

Salah reported to be close to Al-Ittihad deal

The Jeddah giants - along with Al-Ahli and others - have been linked with money-spinning moves that would finally bring Salah to Saudi Arabia.

Indeed it was claimed in the Turkish press last week that a deal had been inked with Al-Ittihad worth £21m to the left-footed forward. Prior to that it appeared as though the two-time African footballer of the year was close to a move to Besiktas.

Salah to Besiktas deal falls apart

A contract worth around £17m per annum - for two years - was reportedly agreed only for the Istanbul giants to pull out of talks.

Excessive demands from Ramy Abbas - Salah’s long-time agent - were cited as a reason and it left the player’s future in doubt.

Now though it seems as though Trabzonspor have swooped in decisively to tie up a deal for the Egypt national team legend.

That’s according to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu who claims the Trabzonspor contract is currently being looked over by Team Salah.

“Trabzonspor has sent the contract to Mohamed Salah's representative,” he writes on X.

“Trabzonspor and the Salah side are mutually reviewing the contract.”

In a separate post the trusted journalist claims that Salah’s side are asking for a bumper payday when it comes to shirt sales.

“Mohamed Salah's representative conveyed in the talks with Trabzonspor that a jersey sales share of between 20% and 25% would be sufficient for them,” he writes.

“Discussions on this matter are ongoing. Trabzonspor is open to accepting this proposal if the demand is officially confirmed.”

Salah deal to be confirmed next week

Trabzonspor’s offer is reported to be worth around €17m per season - for two years - which would be down on his basic Liverpool salary.

However should Salah’s team give the approval to the deal then he could be set to rake it in as a result of the shirt deal.

The Turkish newspaper Sabah meanwhile claims that a deal which would take Salah to the team that finished third in the Super Lig last year could be announced as soon as the coming week.
