Here’s everything that happened yesterday at AFCON…

Zambia 0-0 Comoros

Zambia and Comoros played out a 0-0 draw in the second round of group games in Group A. The total XG in the game for both sides came to less than one and there was only one shot on target in the entire match.

The draw means Zambia are third and have drawn both of their games so far whilst Comoros are last and only have one point.

Morocco 1-1 Mali

Morocco and Mali also drew, but the game was very entertaining and Morocco could and perhaps should have scored more than just one. They opened the scoring through Brahim Diaz who converted a penalty in the first half, but Lassine Sinayoko levelled in the second period, also through a penalty.

Morocco were among the pre-tournament favourites to win the whole thing and Walid Regragui’s side have started well, winning one and drawing one of their first two. They are top of Group A.

Angola 1-1 Zimbabwe

There was another draw as Angola were held to a draw by Zimbabwe. Angola were big favourites to win ahead of the game, and took the lead, but a spirited performance from Zimbabwe saw them equalise in the first half and keep out Patrice Beaumelle’s side for the rest of the game.

Angola are third in Group B whilst Zimbabwe are fourth. Both teams have one point.

Egypt 1-0 South Africa

In the pick of yesterday’s games, Egypt beat South Africa to make it two wins from two at the tournament. As in their game against Zimbabwe, Mo Salah was on the scoresheet.

The Liverpool star converted from the spot in the first half and Egypt restricted the South Africans after that.

Egypt have won seven AFCON titles in their history but Salah has never won one, and after a perfect start and two goals in two, he will be hoping this is the year that changes.
