The forward, who moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer from Brighton and Hove Albion, has scored 14 goals in 30 Premier League games this term.

He has featured in every league match for the Blues this season, under three different managers.

Joao Pedro hit his first hat-trick for his new side in their penultimate top-flight outing against Aston Villa, who Chelsea defeated 4-1 at Villa Park to strengthen their position in the Champions League conversation.

“People don’t know how good he is,” Caicedo said of Joao Pedro.

“For me he’s one of the best players, not just in the Premier League but in the world. His movement, the way he plays, how he scores goals – for me, as a striker he has everything.”

Chelsea have a big week coming up as they look to turn around their Champions League deficit against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, as they trail 5-2 on aggregate.

They then take on Everton at the Hill Dickenson Stadium at the weekend before the international break.

Upon their return to club action, they face Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final before welcoming Manchester City and Manchester United to Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior’s men are currently sixth in the Premier League table, chasing Champions League qualification.

They trail third-placed United by six points, and they are three worse off than Aston Villa in fourth.

United’s victory over Villa on Sunday pulled Michael Carrick’s side clearer in the race to reach Europe’s elite competition, while Liverpool leapfrogged the Blues into fifth after their draw against Tottenham bettered the Blues’ 1-0 home defeat by Newcastle United.
