Monaco were held 2-2 by Auxerre, paying for Lukas Hradecky’s mistakes, while Sinaly Diomandé marshalled a near-flawless back line. Monaco rallied after the break but could not force a winner.
L'Équipe notes that Monaco were second best before the interval. Kévin Danois opened the scoring from the edge of the box on 11 minutes. Hradecky denied Oppegard on 21, Kehrer chased back to halt Sinayoko on 26, then a shot squeezed under the goalkeeper for Auxerre’s second on 33.
Simon Adingra came on at half-time for Aladji Bamba and stretched the play, taking risks that unsettled Auxerre. Senaya tired and was replaced by Sy on 68.
A high interception by Kehrer allowed Maghnes Akliouche to tee up Fati for 2-1 on 56. One minute later Akliouche released Balogun in the move that led to the penalty on 57.
Diomandé, like Okoh, gave Monaco little to work with and produced a crucial close-range block to deny Adingra on 81. Danois shone in a disciplined setup, though he lost more balls after the break.
Bamba endured a tough first half, often late into duels and committing six fouls, and was withdrawn at the break with Zakaria pushed higher. Jordan Teze struggled early yet stayed on and featured in the fightback, before M. Coulibaly replaced him on 77.
Christian Mawissa, back a day after turning 21, lost 20 balls and was more comfortable once moved into a back three. Danny Namaso worked diligently out of possession but faded, and Ahamada came on for him on 68.
