AS Monaco already have plenty of absentees as they prepare to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League and there could be another added to the list.
Maghnes Akliouche came off injured during Monaco’s 3-1 win over FC Nantes on Friday night. He was replaced by Mamadou Coulibaly just before half-time. Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed that there was concern regarding the France international.
“Maghnes is not the kind of player to ask to come off like that. It isn’t in his character,” said Pocognoli in a press conference attended by Get French Football News. The Belgian confirmed that the issue was muscular and said that Akliouche would undergo further tests.
Lamine Camara was also taken off with what looked to be an injury against Nantes. The Senegal international clutched his ankle after a duel. Whilst Pocognoli expressed his shock at a foul not being called for the incident, he said that his withdrawal was more about “prevention”.
