Monaco’s Takumi Minamino stretchered off with suspected left knee injury in Auxerre Coupe de France tie | OneFootball

AS Monaco’s Japan international Takumi Minamino was stretchered off against Auxerre and could have suffered a serious injury to his left knee.

According to L'Équipe, the attacking midfielder departed in the 35th minute of Sunday’s Coupe de France round of 64, with the score at 1-1.

He was injured in a challenge with Fredrik Oppegard while trying to prevent the Auxerre wing-back from launching a counter-attack.

Minamino’s left knee became stuck in the turf and he remained on the ground for several minutes before leaving the field.

In visible distress, the Japan international covered his face with his hands as he was taken away.
