‘More serious than thought’ – Real Madrid star in doubt to face Real Betis & Atlético | OneFootball

A concerning update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has on Thursday come to the fore online.

Midfielder Valverde played no part in either of Real Madrid’s last two fixtures, against Girona and Real Sociedad.

Initially, it was thought that as much came in a simple effort to afford a rest to a player in desperate need of some time away from the pitch.

As revealed on Thursday, however, Valverde, in fact, is dealing with an ongoing injury concern.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘His absence is not a simple rest. The Uruguayan has more than a discomfort in his femoral biceps, as sources from the dressing room affirm.’

So much so that Valverde is considered a major doubt to play his part against Real Betis in La Liga this weekend.

Not only that, but the 26-year-old is in a race against time to be cleared to feature in next week’s Champions League Madrid Derby first-leg.
