Morgan Rogers is arguably one of the Premier League stars to watch in the upcoming summer transfer window.
He is poised to attract attention for his potential starring role for England at the World Cup and a much-anticipated transfer afterwards.
Rogers is expected to leave Aston Villa. The club would prefer to keep him, but their financial situation could require a sale, making it difficult for them to resist offers.
According to The Times, Villa’s tricky financial situation could force them into a sale:
“Selling the 23-year-old would likely be the most straightforward way to alleviate some of Villa’s financial pressures and prevent potential rule breaches.”
The report adds that a fee in excess of £80 million could be enough to prise the Englishman away from Villa Park.
Manchester United have been linked with the 23-year-old, though it is clear they are not alone in the race. Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen, while The Mirror suggests interest extends beyond England.
“Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all ready to test Aston Villa’s resolve over Morgan Rogers in the summer transfer window, but will face competition from Bayern Munich for the attacking midfielder.”
With Villa’s need to sell and Rogers’ interest in a new challenge, the playmaker is certain to be one of the most wanted talents this summer. United fans would be eager to see their club secure his signature, as he could bring added quality.
Yes, Bayern Munich remain a tricky transfer rival. The last time United went head‑to‑head with them for a player, they lost out; Michael Olise chose Bayern over a move to M16.
However, United will hope to have learnt from that disappointment and pull off the transfer this time.
Rogers, who has contributed 10 goals and 7 assists this season, could elevate United’s attack to another level. He may even prove to be Bruno Fernandes’ eventual heir.
The 2002-born attacking midfielder is adored for his powerful, direct style, combining physical strength with technical dribbling to bulldoze through defensive lines. Often described as a “one-man wrecking ball,” he could provide United with the X-factor they need to tear teams apart.
With him, the Red Devils could find themselves less reliant on Fernandes.
