Morocco take on Nigeria tonight with a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final on the line.
The host nation and number-one ranked side have enjoyed an impressive tournament to date, conceding just once in five fixtures.
The Atlas Lions beat Cameroon 2-0 in the quarter-finals, courtesy of goals from Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari. Diaz is the leading scorer in the tournament with five goals. Morocco are aiming to win AFCON for the first time since 1976.
In their path are Nigeria, who boast a perfect record of five wins from five games. The Super Eagles have soared in the knockout rounds, beating Mozambique and Algeria by an aggregate score of 6-0.
Achraf Hakimi’s return from injury has been a major boost for Morocco. The captain and reigning African Footballer of the Year has started both knockout stage games, recording an assist against Tanzania.
In a blow to the host nation, Azzedine Ounahi and Romain Saiss both remain sidelined.
In attack, Ayoub El Kaabi is expected to earn the nod at centre-forward, ahead of Youssef En-Nesyri. The duo have scored 45 international goals between them.
Predicted Morocco XI: Bono; Hakimi, Aguerd, Masina, Mazraoui; El Khannouss, El Aynaoui, Saibari; Diaz, Ezzalzouli, El Kaabi.
The Africa Cup of Nations semi-final between Nigeria and Morocco takes place on Wednesday 14th January 2026. Kick-off is 8pm GMT.
Both AFCON semi-final matches are live and free in the UK on Channel 4’s E4. Egypt take on Senegal in the other semi-final at 5:30pm.
